Rex Rutter.jpgRex Rutter, idle since he was injured in an off-track incident in April, returns to the KVRA lineup tonight as the vintage coupes and sedans make an extra visit to the 3/8-mile high-banked Paducah International Raceway oval.

PIR is the series' unofficial home track, for tonight's race. It will be the sixth race of the season at PIR and the 21st in series history.

Rutter, of Madisonville, Ky., drives the Weaver Racing No. W3, a black 1947 Chevrolet coupe. Rutter is a three-time winner in KVRA competition, including a June 6, 2008, feature at PIR. His interim replacement, late model driver Josh Throgmorton of Providence, Ky., scored a win May 15 at Paducah.

MURRAY, Ky. -- KVRA's vintage coupes and sedans, originally scheduled to be idle on the Fourth of July weekend, will be in action Friday at Paducah International Raceway.

KVRA president and founder Mark Moore announced the addition to the schedule Tuesday evening.
